Priorities

Hi, I’m Andy — here’s what I’ll fight for

Four common-sense priorities for a Langley that works better for everyone.

Election Date is Saturday, October 17
🚦

Fix the gridlock and get people moving.

Gridlock is normalized in our Township, but it shouldn’t be. Our Township is growing and our infrastructure is not keeping up. Infrastructure should be set up before growth happens, not after residents move in. It shouldn’t take 10-15 minutes to get to the grocery store, the pool or to pick up pizza.

💰

Taxes shouldn’t climb every year.

We need to carefully budget our municipal finances for services today and the future. We need to be transparent about all expenditures and borrowing. We shouldn’t be spending to our municipal borrowing limit. A maxed out limit means there’s no room for emergencies. We can’t afford to gamble on our future.

🏪

Backing our local small businesses and tourism.

Small businesses are the backbone of our community. We need to make it easier to do business in our municipality and encourage visitors to come to Langley. Langley isn’t just pumpkin patches. We have a lot more businesses worth supporting. The stronger our commercial and industrial base is, the more revenue for our municipality and the less burden on our residential tax base.

🛡️

Safe streets and strong communities.

We need to invest in our police and fire to ensure our service quality doesn’t decline just because population is increasing. With SkyTrain coming to Langley, we need to ensure our community is safe for residents and visitors. We need to do more to track and prevent property crime, such as porch pirates.

Your Priorities Are My Priorities

These four priorities came from listening to residents across Langley — but the conversation doesn’t end here. If something is on your mind that isn’t reflected above, I want to know about it. Reach out with your concerns, and I will keep fighting for them after the election.
